Find My Why
My background spans Child Life, Early Childhood Education, telecommunications customer service, and insurance compliance. I have served on multiple fundraising committees and consistently advocate for others.
I am not a career politician. My focus is on advocacy and service to the community. I am committed to being accessible and responsive to your needs.
Like all new candidates, I am ready to learn and grow in this role. I look forward to working with experienced colleagues like Robert Chambers and driving positive change from within council, committees, and the community.
I advocate for others and for myself, guided by empathy and respect for each individual's journey. Change requires new leadership. Electing someone committed to working for you and collaborating with council will deliver the results our community needs.
Here is why I am the right candidate for Ward 4.
I act decisively to protect our community and its values, whether that means ensuring safety or supporting those in need.
I am dedicated to our community, demonstrated by my commitment to local events and support for local businesses, even in challenging circumstances. Decorating Burford Square for Canada Day, or supporting local businesses on crutches
I value open communication and am committed to listening to residents to better serve our community. I am a Certified Yapper, just tell me to stop.
I am always available to support residents, while maintaining a strong commitment to my family and responsibilities.
I am proud to live in Burford and value the strong sense of community here. I support local youth and businesses, and believe that hard work and dedication are essential to serving effectively. Supporting local employment opportunities for teens is essential to building a stronger community.
I have fought for fairness and justice, including advocating for my own rights against employers and insurance companies. My determination ensures that others will not face similar challenges in the future. “I would rather live in a cardboard box before settling with them.” I cannot be bought; money is not my motivation. I believe in justice, truth, and fair treatment.
My experiences have shaped my strong values and commitment to public service.
Securing sustainable funding for EMS services is a priority.
I am committed to leading meaningful change by working collaboratively with council and the community to deliver measurable results.I am engaged and approachable, always ready to connect with residents throughout our community. smiling and singing while I campaign
I volunteer regularly with organizations such as Sato Saved End of the Line Rehabilitation, Woodland Cultural Centre, and the Terry Fox Run, driven by a genuine commitment to service rather than campaign recognition.
I am running to address critical transportation and traffic flow issues that impact the safety and efficiency of our community. Implement targeted traffic-control measures to reduce speeds in Mt Vernon and Burford, particularly on King Street, Colbourne, Highway 53, Bishopgate, Scotland, Simcoe Street, and Oakland Street. This is essential to protect residents and keep our communities safe. Expand these safety measures to Hatchley Road and other critical areas. Strengthen enforcement and reroute transport trucks away from our villages to safeguard residents and uphold community safety.
Residents must not shoulder the costs of water and sewage through direct charges or higher taxes. I will champion fair, sustainable funding solutions.
Secure dedicated funding for Ward 4 to deliver innovative environmental projects, including installing solar streetlights, to advance sustainability and improve quality of life.
Initiate a thorough audit of operations and finances over the past ten years to ensure transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making.
Address outdated council meeting communication practices, such as reliance on printed agendas when digital access is available. Ensure county staff communicate clearly, professionally, and efficiently with council.
Regarding the Cleaver Bridge, my personal view is no, but as a councillor, I will represent the majority's decision. My role is to advocate for the community's priorities, even when they differ from my own.
It is important to consider whether we would pursue development if the bridge had never existed. We must evaluate decisions based on current needs and long-term benefits.
I approach every issue by examining all perspectives and making decisions grounded in facts If you want a resilient, determined, and relentless advocate ready to work and learn, vote for Claudine Craigie.
