I am and will continue to be a strong defender of everyone's rights. I have battled insurance companies, employers, lawyers, builders and large corporations for those rights. With a background in the foundations of law and passion for human rights, I will never be a bystander. I will stand up for others before myself. I am known as a passionate, brash and unfiltered individual.
When PSWs needed outerwear, I spoke up.
When Oakville Place wanted to block residents view of the lake, I spoke up.
When a colleague was penalized for a medical condition on her performance review, I spoke up.
When an employer in the county of Brant was producing inaccurate documents, I spoke up.
When a bully was aggressive, I spoke up.
When I had to defend myself and others in a disability claim, I was bold, determined and I never quit.
In every situation, I spoke up, and I prevailed with others' best interests at the forefront.
I speak up even if no one hears me. I speak for people who can't or won't. I am confident in holding multiple ideas and will weigh structure and flexibility when evaluating different views. Instead of aligning with a single ideology, I openly evaluate political ideas from multiple sides before forming an opinion.
Meet Claudine
I was born and raised in the Town of Oakville, Ontario. I spent most of my childhood riding horses, fishing, camping, or swimming in the summers, while my winters were spent skiing and dancing. In the Spring of 2000, I married my husband Ian. Our life moved to the County of Brant in 2003, and we now live in the Village of Burford. We are the proud parents of our daughter, Carrigan, who has grown up in and actively participated in the County of Brant community.
I graduated from Sheridan College in 2000 with a degree in Early Childhood Education, as a Child Life Specialist, and hold a Life License with a specialized focus in ethics and compliance. At Sheridan, I also gained a background in Police Science and Studies. Through my work at Serenia Life, I have obtained an aptitude for research, teaching, budgeting, compliance, and audits.
From 2017 to 2020, my focus was directed towards recovery from several major surgeries. Over the past several years, I have spent my time consulting with small businesses and exploring new passions, including aroma and senses, as this was a large part of my mother-in-law's therapy through dementia. I became the primary caregiver after her diagnosis in October 2022 until her passing in April 2025. During this time, I advocated for her personal support workers as I became aware of injustices and a lack of resources in both the private and public healthcare sectors, especially in Ward 4.
With a passion for community, I continually seek ways to be involved in the County of Brant. I am passionate about equality for students in the secondary school system and have advocated for better guidance for students, responsible spending, and stronger discipline around bullying in schools. In my spare time, I volunteer for Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue in Brantford. We are blessed with our beautiful dogs, Augie and Chet (Sato Saved Rescue), and our cats, Walter, Lincoln, Max (Sato Saved Rescue), and Thumper—all of whom we've created a safe and loving home for.
More recently, I have focused on positivity, growth and new beginnings. Much of which is reflected in our backyard through various trees, shrubs, and florals. With this focus and the enthusiastic support of my family and friends, the decision to run for Ward 4 councillor was an easy YES!

for the County of Brant's future without losing what makes it home
Ward 4 residents should not be unfairly burdened with high water and wastewater fees. Infrastructure can happen without municipal water and sewage forced upon residents.
New residential expansion costs should not be current residents responsibility. Taxes need to remain under control and wasteful spending must be stopped.
Creating vibrant neighbourhoods requires more than just homes. Community hubs including libraries, local programming and small businesses are essential to our neighbourhoods. They bring people together, contribute to our health and well- being and provide access to daily needs.
Ensuring the longevity of the Village of Burford as a hub for the agriculture community.
Small residential growth needs to be prioritized through the implementation of strict zoning laws to preserve and protect agricultural soils from urban sprawl.
Protecting Canadian agriculture is a matter of food sovereignty. Because Canada cannot simply grow more acres of prime farmland, preserving existing agricultural land from urban sprawl and development is essential for feeding future generations. (A. Dickson)
Responding to real needs as they happen.
I aim to create an environment that encourages and empowers residents to communicate with their local government by being proactive and transparent. It is important to me to embrace what residents are expressing and interpret its results.
Fostering a human-centred culture and protecting rights is my priority. Practicing proactive governance results in impact; an impact that will be seen in residents' quality of life in their village, ward or county.
As development opportunities arise it is crucial that they are in alignment with the existing historic downtown heritage character and agricultural growth is encouraged in Ward 4.
The infrastructure must come first before any residential developments in order to support growth including roads, schools, services roads, medical clinics and EMS.
Development does not have to come at the cost of paving over farmland or destroying nature. The space for new neighbourhoods exists within the urban boundaries. The current approach of sprawling onto farmland and nature is expensive, deminishes air quality and increases risk of your basement flooding.
The solution: homes built within walking distance from public transit stations meaning you do not have to rely on expensive commutes as your only method of transportation. This can be done while simultaneously protecting the land by freezing urban boundaries and reversing the recent boundary expansions.
How to Vote in the County of Brant
1. Check Your Registration
Ensure you are on the voters list and that your information is up to date. Visit the Brant County clerk's office or check online to verify your eligibility for Ward 4.
2. Bring Proper ID
Have your voter information card and one piece of identification showing your name and qualifying Brant County address ready.
3. Cast Your Ballot
Visit your designated polling station on election day or take advantage of advance voting opportunities to make your voice heard.
This election will be conducted using online voting as the designated voting method.
An in person polling option will also be available. Voters who attend in person will cast their ballot using electronic devices, with staff on site to provide assistance as needed.

Land Acknowledgement
As we gather, we acknowledge that we meet on the lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Six Nations of the Grand River, and the traditional territory of the Attiwanderonk, and Chonnonton. We remind ourselves that the County of Brant is situated on lands that are full of rich Indigenous history and home to many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people today; we recognize the significance of their contributions to the past, present, and future of this land.
As a County we have a shared responsibility for the stewardship of the land on which we live and work and a commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation calls to action. We commit to continue learning, reflecting on our past, and working in allyship.
